With their food named after iconic artists like Frank Sinatra and the Notorious B.I.G., this restaurant is any music enthusiast’s dream. And trust me, the food lives up to those names. When you can walk in and eat a grilled cheese with fried eggs, bacon, and home fries in the middle, there’s nothing B-Side can’t make you. To top it all off, the entire restaurant is decorated with guitars, posters, and even real vinyl records! For an eatery in a small college town, it definitely wouldn’t look out of place in any popular city.

2. Gourmet Pizza

When you think of gourmet pizza in New Paltz, this one certainly lives up to its namesake. Being open until 4:00 A.M., the staff will serve you top notch pizza, heroes, and more even after a nightly stroll in the vibrant college town. Located right in the middle of Main Street, it’s in between all the bars, clubs and shops, perfectly convenient for a hungry partier or tourist. 3. Mexicali Blue

Named after the song “Mexicali Blues” by the Grateful Dead, this is another music-based restaurant, but with a southwestern twist. Being up the street from a store that sells Grateful Dead merchandise, and having exquisite food to match, this place fits right at home in New Paltz. Their fish tacos are all the rage, but for the vegetarians and vegans out there, they make bean and portobello mushroom tacos too. Influenced by California’s style of healthy eating, you can enjoy a meal influenced by the south and the west, without having to travel to either place.

4. P&G’s

When it comes to bar food, the same three foods come to mind: burgers, wings, and mozzarella sticks. However, P&G’s isn’t your ordinary bar. Located on Main Street (I know, surprising), this pub goes a step further offering you turkey burgers, salmon sandwiches, and even chicken marsala! Despite such dishes not being common at your typical bar, they are quite decently priced too. Whether you’re a student or a tourist, I recommend you try it at least once. Sure, there are many bars in New Paltz,  but I haven’t seen one with so many food options, especially with such great prices and quality.

Have you ever wanted to try Eastern food, but can’t afford the travel? Well Anatolia answers that problem with delicious Turkish cuisine. With Adana-chicken kabobs, spinach pies, and much more to eat, you really feel like you’re eating in the heart of Istanbul in this place. However, if Turkish food is not to your liking, they still serve traditional classics like chicken fingers and burgers, which taste great. Since New Paltz is a haven of people from many different cultures, Anatolia fits right at home here, literally.
